Field Checklists
The Smithsonian Institution's A Field Checklist of the Birds of Guyana, 2nd edition was released in April 2007. It includes 814 species recorded in Guyana, up from the 786 species recorded in the first edition of the checklist which was published in 2000. Below you will find a link to the Smithsonian list along with downloadable regional checklists prepared by the Iwokrama Centre for Rainforest Conservation and Development, several lodges and other birding sites.
New checklists are being added on a regular basis, so be sure to check back for new and updated ones from birding tours and from birding sites across Guyana!
